EconNews Roundup

Central Bank to leave rates on hold. Even the most hawkish economists have been revising their policy rate forecasts in the last few days; expectations are shifting for hikes in the fourth quarter and only 50-75bp of hikes this year.

Thoughts from the Euromoney Turkey Finance and Investment Forum: I wasn't at the meeting, but I am really sick of all this over-optimism. It is one thing to say that no country is happy with taxation and quality and budget, but entirely another thing to claim Turkey is no different than other countries in that respect- just look at the share of direct and indirect cases in any developed country and Turkey and you'll know what I mean. BTW, Zaman is covering the conference as well.
